Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has retained its position as the leading remittance collector, bringing in the highest amount of funds in April sent by Bangladeshi expatriates.
According to Bangladesh Bank data, the largest Shariah-compliant bank in Bangladesh received $46,500,000 within 26 days of April.
The total remittance inflow for the 26 days of April amounted to $168,097,000.
Brac Bank secured the second position with $10,562,000, followed by Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) with $9,193,000.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Krishi Bank and Janata Bank received $898,000 and $743,000 respectively.
During the month of March in the fiscal 2024-25, expatriate Bangladeshis sent around $1,996.85 million remittances.
Out of the total figure, the highest $491.79 million remittance came to the country through Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.
