Bangladesh-Russia relations rooted in friendship, mutual respect: Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties with Bangladesh, highlighting deepening cooperation across multiple sectors

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed confidence in the continued growth of Bangladesh-Russia relations, underscoring their foundation in friendship and mutual respect.

"I am confident that they will continue to develop in a productive manner for the benefit of our peoples and in the interests of strengthening regional security and stability," Putin said in a message to President Mohammed Shahabuddin, as conveyed by the Russian Embassy in Dhaka.

Extending his best wishes, the Russian leader wished his Bangladeshi counterpart good health and success, along with peace and prosperity for the people of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin echoed similar sentiments in a message to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, highlighting the steady progress in bilateral cooperation across trade, economics, science, technology, culture, and humanitarian efforts.

"I am confident that active collaboration at the government level will contribute to strengthening the entire spectrum of our practical interactions," Mishustin remarked, adding that this aligns with the strategic interests of both nations.

On behalf of the Russian government, Mishustin extended his congratulations on Bangladesh’s National and Independence Day, wishing Yunus sound health, well-being, and success in his responsibilities, while also extending his best wishes to the people of Bangladesh.
