Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has warned that storms may sweep across three regions of the country by noon today, while the capital Dhaka and its surrounding areas are likely to experience a slight increase in temperature.

In a bulletin issued on Tuesday (18 March), the BMD stated that temporary gusty or squally winds at speeds of 45-60 km/h from the west or northwest may bring rain or thunderstorms over Sirajganj, Mymensingh, and Sylhet.

River ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal No. 1.

Meanwhile, in Dhaka and nearby regions, daytime temperatures may see a slight rise, with dry weather persisting.

As a result, the warmth is expected to feel somewhat intense. Winds from the west or southwest may blow at speeds of 5-10 km/h during the same period.

Additionally, according to a separate bulletin issued on Monday night, rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty or squally winds may occur at isolated locations in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions within the next 24 hours.

Some areas may also experience sporadic hailstorms. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry, with partly cloudy skies.
