Journalist Joynal Abdein Shishir has been appointed the joint member secretary of the National Citizens Party (NCP), a newly formed political entity.

Shishir, a former staff correspondent at The Business Correspondent, holds both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the Mass Communication and Journalism department at Jahangirnagar University (JU).

The NCP, emerging from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens’ Committee, was officially launched on Friday (28 February) at a public event on Manik Mia Avenue, in front of the National Parliament.

During the launch event, a 150-member party committee was introduced, with leadership roles distributed among key figures.
