The High Court has issued a rule seeking an explanation as to why Chinmoy Krishna Das, spokesman for Sammilito Sanatani Jagaran Jote, should not be granted bail in a sedition case.
The bench of Justice Md Atoar Rahman and Justice Ali Reza issued the rule on Tuesday (4 February) following a bail petition submitted by the legal counsel representing the Hindu community leader.
Defence lawyer Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee stated that the court has directed the state to submit its response within two weeks.
