Lutfozzaman Babar, the former state minister for home affairs, was suddenly taken ill on Sunday (19 January) night and admitted to United Hospital in Dhaka.
The incident occurred during a meeting with political workers when Babar experienced severe pain on the left side of his chest.
Sources confirmed that he was immediately transported to the hospital for medical attention.
