Six more people died of dengue fever in the last 24 hours, with 882 new patients admitted to hospitals across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the newly hospitalised patients, 244 were from Dhaka division, including 140 in Dhaka North City and 104 in Dhaka South City. Other divisions reported the following cases: Barishal (67), Chattogram (141), Khulna (91), Rajshahi (54), Mymensingh (33), Sylhet (8), and Rangpur (11).
As of now, 2,868 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country. Since January 1, 2024, a total of 92,351 dengue cases have been reported.
In comparison, last year saw a record-breaking 321,179 cases and 1,705 deaths due to dengue, marking the country’s worst-ever outbreak.
