A joint force led by the 46th Independent Infantry Brigade of the Bangladesh Army arrested 12 individuals from the Geneva Camp on Friday for alleged involvement in drug trafficking, according to a release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the operation, the joint force recovered one revolver, eight rounds of ammunition, five machetes, and seven locally-made sharp weapons from the possession of the detainees.
Among those arrested are Mahbub and Irfan, who are reportedly close associates of known drug dealer Chua Selim.
The arrestees have been handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station for further legal proceedings.
Authorities emphasized their commitment to combating criminal activities and maintaining law and order in the area.
