Six platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed in the Jatrabari-Demra area to restore law and order following violent clashes among students of three local colleges.
The deployment was confirmed through a short message from the BGB, citing the need to prevent further escalation of tensions.
The unrest began when students from Sohrawardy College and Kabi Nazrul Government College launched an attack on Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) around 12:30 pm, triggering violence and vandalism in the area.
Dozens of students were injured in the confrontation.
