Chattogram Medical College (CMC) authorities have taken action against 86 students for breaching discipline.
Among them, 75 were leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) that has been banned.
The announcement was made by CMC Principal Professor Dr. Jasim Uddin during a press briefing on Monday, following an Academic Council meeting.s.
The suspended students, including 14 trainee doctors, face suspensions ranging from six months to two years, according to CMC sources.
CMC sources said that a committee was formed four months ago to investigate allegations against these students. The committee’s findings revealed that some students were illegally occupying dormitory seats, engaging in terrorist activities, physically assaulting fellow students and disrupting the college’s academic environment.
