A distinct low-pressure system has formed over the sea, with the potential to intensify further, as a result, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rainfall in all divisions of the country, including the capital, Dhaka.

Additionally, all maritime ports have been instructed to hoist distant cautionary signal no 1, according to the latest weather update bulletin by the BMD on Tuesday (15 October).

The low-pressure system, which was located over the southeastern Bay of Bengal and its adjoining areas, has now moved to the southwestern Bay and its adjacent southeastern regions, taking the shape of a distinct low-pressure system. Its influence extends up to the northern Bay of Bengal, with a likelihood of further intensification, BMD added.

As a consequence, some areas in the Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, as well as a few spots in the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, may experience temporary gusty winds accompanied by rain or thundershowers.

Daytime temperatures across the country may decrease slightly, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain almost unchanged.

It has been indicated that many areas in the Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions, along with some parts of Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, may witness temporary gusty winds and rain or thundershowers on 17 October.

Both daytime and nighttime temperatures may experience a slight drop nationwide.
