Scattered thunderstorms, accompanied by gusty winds, lightning, and occasional hail, may affect Dhaka and several divisions, including Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Sylhet, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast.

According to the 24-hour weather bulletin issued on Monday (17 March), isolated hailstorms are also likely in some areas.

Meanwhile, a mild heatwave continues to sweep across Faridpur, Manikganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Rangamati, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jashore, Chuadanga, and Patuakhali, with the possibility of persisting.

Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry with partially cloudy skies.

Both daytime and nighttime temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged nationwide.

Meteorologists attribute these weather patterns to an extension of a low-pressure system over West Bengal and its surrounding areas, with a seasonal low over the southern Bay of Bengal.
