The eight-year-old child who fell victim to sexual assault in Magura remains in an extremely critical state, suffering two more cardiac arrests on Thursday (13 March).
According to the Chief Adviser's Press Wing, the child’s condition has worsened significantly.
She experienced two cardiac arrests, the second of which required nearly 30 minutes of CPR to revive her.
Doctors at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka report that her brain is no longer functioning, with a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) level of 3.
Her blood pressure and oxygen levels are alarmingly low.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, the official Facebook page of the Bangladesh Army shared an update on the child’s deteriorating health, urging the nation to pray for her recovery.
The child remains under intensive care at CMH’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where medical professionals are following standard ICU protocols, conducting necessary tests, and administering the highest level of treatment.
The army’s statement also revealed that on Wednesday alone, the child suffered four cardiac arrests and had to be stabilised through CPR.
She is undergoing dialysis due to a severe electrolyte imbalance, while her blood pressure, recorded at 60/40, continues to decline.
A high-level medical board comprising specialist doctors is making every effort to save her life using the most advanced treatment methods available.
The child was admitted to CMH in a critical condition on the evening of 8 March.
