A fire broke out at a sawmill in the Taltaala Market area of Dhaka’s Khilgaon on Friday (21 February) evening, with 11 units of the fire service brining the fire under control after 2 hours.
The fire service control room received the first report of the incident at around 7:30pm, said duty officer Rashed Bin Khaled.
Initially, three fire-fighting units were dispatched to the scene.
However, as the fire intensified, the deployment was expanded to eight units, with three more en route to assist, Khaled stated.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage remain unknown at this stage.
No casualties have been reported so far.
