The Appellate Division has published its full verdict stating that there are no legal weakness in the High Court's ruling which dismissed five labour law cases against Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government. The ruling also upheld that there is no need for legal intervention in the High Court’s decision.

In the recent order from the appellate division, it was stated that there were no legal weakness in the High Court's judgment and order. Therefore, there was no need for legal interference with the decision, and the state’s leave to appeal applications were rejected.

On 3 July 2019, three former employees of Grameen Communications, the organisation founded by Dr. Yunus, filed cases against him in the Third Labour Court of Dhaka. The former employees, Abdus Salam, Shah Alam, and Emranul Haque, were followed by two others, Hossain Ahmed and Abdur Gafur, who filed lawsuits in the same year.

Dr. Yunus petitioned the High Court in 2020 to have the cases dismissed. In response, the High Court issued a rule to cancel the cases. After separate hearings, the High Court ruled on 24 October 2024 to dismiss the cases.

Subsequently, the state filed applications for leave to appeal against the High Court's decision. On 8 December, a bench of three judges, led by Justice Ashfaqul Islam, rejected the state’s leave to appeal against the ruling.
