To ensure the impartial conduct of both parliament and the executive branch of the government, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has proposed that no individual should serve as prime minister for more than two terms.

Furthermore, it has been recommended that one person should not simultaneously hold the positions of head of government, party leader, and leader of the parliament.

"All law enforcement agencies should be kept free from political affiliations, and the units will need to be completely overhauled," TIB Executive Director Dr Iftekharuzzaman said presenting the reforming during a press conference titled "A New Bangladesh: Prevention of Corruption, Democracy, and Good Governance" on Wednesday (28 August).

Dr Iftekharuzzaman presented a total of 55 proposals for these reforms.

He emphasised the need for essential reforms in the state structure to foster democratic practices, uphold the rule of law, protect human rights, prevent irregularities and corruption, and combat money laundering.
