The BNP is going into its six-day programme today (13 February) to demand the resignation of the government, the release of party leaders and activists, as well as to protest the rise in commodity prices and the killings on the India-Bangladesh and Bangladesh-Myanmar borders.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme in a press release on Sunday (11 February).
Like-minded political parties including LDP, 12-party alliance will carry out the same programme with BNP.
According to the announced programme, BNP will distribute leaflets and conduct mass campaigns in all cities including Dhaka on Tuesday and next Wednesday.
After that, the party will hold the same programme in all district cities on 17 February and at all upazilas, police stations, municipalities and unions on 18 and 19 February.
Besides, the party will organise prayers in all the mosques of the country after the Friday prayers on 16 February in memory of the Bangladeshis who were shot by the border guards of the two countries on the India-Myanmar border.
