Heavy rainfall is expected in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in the next three days, said the Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD).
"Due to active monsoon heavy (44-88 mm/24hrs) to very heavy rainfall (289 mm/24hrs) likely in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," BMD said in its latest weather forecast bulletin on Tuesday (18 June).
Monsoon winds entered the country on 30 May. However, rain has not started everywhere in the country. Rather, heatwaves have been sweeping through different areas.
Heatwave is flowing in almost all places of Khulna division and Patuakhali, Bhola, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Gopalganj and Pabna districts.
Capital Dhaka's sky has been covered with clouds since morning.
Even with occasional winds blowing the discomfort is not reduced due to high humidity in the air.
