Vice-Chairman of the National Consensus Commission Professor Dr Ali Riaz today said creating a roadmap for future Bangladesh is one of the main objectives of the commission.
"For the first time since independence, we have got the opportunity to create a methodology for state reform," he said.
The vice-chairman of the National Consensus Commission made the remarks at the onset of a meeting with Nagorik Oikya at the LD Hall of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here, said a press release.
Commission members Safar Raj Hossain, Justice Emdadul Hoque and Dr Iftekharuzzaman and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Monir Haider were present at the meeting.
A delegation of Nagorik Oikya led by its Presidium member Zillur Chowdhury Dipu joined the meeting.
Professor Riaz said as the term of the National Consensus Commission will end on 15 July this year, the commission wants to complete its work within this period.
Expressing hope that a national charter could be created following discussions with all, he said based on the charter, the election will be held.
Professor Riaz said the National Consensus Commission would play a vital role in holding a free and fair election.
