A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Mynamar with joints being felt in various parts of Bangladesh, including Dhaka and Chattogram.
The earthquake, which occurred at approximately 12:20pm on Friday (28 March).
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the epicentre of the earthquake was located 12 km from Sagaing in Myanmar, with the tremor affecting neighbouring countries such as India, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and China.
The earthquake sent shockwaves through several regions, causing alarm among residents, though no significant damage or injuries have been confirmed at this time.
Reports from various sources indicate that the earthquake’s impact was widely felt, but official reports regarding damages and any delayed aftershocks are still being awaited.
