As over 10 million people leave Dhaka for Eid celebrations, concerns over home security are mounting among residents.
While the long holiday brings excitement, many fear their vacant homes could become targets for theft and burglary, especially amid the recent deterioration of law and order in the capital.
To mitigate risks, law enforcement agencies have stepped up security measures.
At least 15,000 police officers are on duty, with 600 patrol teams and 75 checkpoints operating daily.
Special security teams have also been deployed at key locations, including residential areas, shopping centres, gold shops, and financial institutions.
Additionally, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has implemented a three-tier security system, including undercover surveillance and mobile strike forces, to ensure a safe and seamless Eid journey.
Despite these efforts, many residents remain anxious, unsure if their homes will remain secure while they celebrate Eid in their ancestral villages.
