Government officials and employees today have performed their duties as last day before the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
Government employees will enjoy a nine-day holiday from tomorrow (Friday) to 5 April (Saturday).
Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated on 31 March (Monday) or 1 April (Tuesday), depending on the sighting of the moon.
This year, five days of holiday were given on the occasion of Eid. 28 March (Friday) is the holiday for Shab-e-Qadr. This time, the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday will start from 29 March (Saturday), and the five-day holiday (29, 30, 31 March and 1 and 2 April) will continue until 2 April.
While the government has issued an executive order declaring 3 April a public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Therefore, the offices will resume on 6 April, following the weekly holidays on 4 and 5 April.
