The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted cloudy weather in Dhaka and its surrounding areas until noon on Friday (21 March), with a likelihood of rain or thunderstorms.
A slight drop in daytime temperatures is also expected.
According to the six-hour weather forecast issued at 7am, the sky is likely to remain partly cloudy to temporarily overcast, increasing the chances of showers or thunderous rainfall.
The daytime temperature is expected to remain nearly unchanged, while south-westerly or westerly winds may blow at speeds of 8-12 km/h.
At 6am on Friday, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 24.5°C, with humidity levels at 65%.
Meanwhile, in its broader nationwide forecast issued on Thursday, the BMD predicted that Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions could experience scattered thunderstorms or rain, with some areas potentially witnessing hailstorms.
In other regions of the country, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy, with mostly dry weather prevailing.
Additionally, the BMD noted that daytime temperatures across the country might decrease by 1-2°C, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged.
