Remittance inflow increased by 78.4pc in first 19 days of March

Remittance inflow witnessed a remarkable year-on-year growth of a massive 78.4 percent to US$2,252 million in the first 19 days of the ongoing March.
 
According to the Bangladesh Bank (BB) latest data, the country logged a total of $1,262 million during the same period of the last year.

Expatriates have sent remittances of $20,741 million during the July 2024 - 19 March 2025 of the current fiscal year, which was only $16,339 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Accordingly, remittances have increased by $4,402 million or 26.9 percent in a span of about nine months.
