Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, PSC, paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Interim Chief Adviser, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, at the state guest house Jamuna on Wednesday (19 March).
During the meeting, the army chief apprised the chief adviser of the overall security situation in the country and the ongoing activities of the Bangladesh army.
He also elaborated on various measures undertaken by the military to support national development and stability.
General Waker-uz-Zaman briefed Dr Muhammad Yunus on his recent visit to the Central African Republic, expressing optimism that the trip would enhance bilateral relations and strengthen military cooperation between the two nations.
Additionally, he provided an update on the recently concluded high-level evaluation of justice for marginalised army officers and the progress of the ongoing review concerning the reinstatement of dismissed junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and other ranks.
Furthermore, the army chief informed the chief adviser about the measures taken by the Bangladesh army to provide medical treatment to students and civilians injured during the July-August mass uprising.
The chief adviser commended the army’s contributions and assured his guidance in its future endeavours.
He expressed confidence that the armed forces would continue to uphold their professionalism and dedication in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and security.
