Law enforcement agencies have arrested 769 more individuals across the country in the last 24 hours until Saturday afternoon (22 February) as part of the ongoing nationwide crackdown, codenamed "Operation Devil Hunt."
In addition to these arrests, 572 others were arrested in connection with various cases during the same period, according to the police headquarters.
With the latest figure under “Operation Devil Hunt”, 8079 were arrested in total on the 14th day of the crackdown for their suspected link to destabilise the country.
During the operation in the last 24 hours, one single barrel gun, two cartridges, one light gun and nine machetes were seized.
The government launched "Operation Devil Hunt," a coordinated effort by joint forces, to dismantle terrorist networks allegedly linked to remnants of the ousted autocratic regime of the Awami League. The crackdown follows a violent attack on 7 February in Gazipur, which left several civilians and students seriously injured.
