The holy Shab-e-Barat, known as the night of fortune, will be observed across the country on Friday (14 February) night with deep religious fervour and devotion.
According to a press release from the Islamic Foundation (IF), a series of programmes has been scheduled at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
It will host a range of activities including waz (religious sermons), doa-mahfils, special prayers, Quranic recitations, and Hamd-Naat performances at the mosque.
Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain is slated to deliver an Islamic sermon at approximately 6:35pm at the Baitul Mukarram Mosque, emphasising the significance of Shab-e-Barat.
In addition, various mosques across the country will conduct sermons centred on Shab-e-Barat following Maghrib prayers and hold special munajat sessions after Esha prayers.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus also issued a greeting today, extending warm wishes to Muslims both in Bangladesh and around the world on this auspicious occasion.
Traditionally, devotees visit graveyards on Shab-e-Barat to offer special doa and munajat for the departed souls of their loved ones, while many also distribute money, food, and sweets among the poor and destitute.
