The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has lodged two distinct cases against the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, accusing them of acquiring plots in Purbachal from Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) by leveraging their positions of power.
"They concealed information in their application to obtain a plot from Rajuk, which contravenes the stipulated conditions," stated ACC Director General (Prevention) Akhtar Hossain during a press briefing on Tuesday (14 January).
Hasina and Joy have been identified as the primary accused in the separate cases.
Furthermore, Hasina is implicated as an accomplice in the case against Joy, alongside 15 other individuals, including officials from Rajuk and the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
In the case against Hasina, an additional eight persons, comprising officials from Rajuk and the ministry, have also been accused.
