The Supreme Court has upheld the High Court's verdict, which annulled four extortion cases against BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
A four-judge bench led by Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam dismissed the leave to appeal filed by the state against the High Court's ruling on Sunday (5 January).
Additional Attorney General Barrister Aneek R Haque represented the state during the hearing.
This decision marks a significant legal victory for Tarique Rahman, maintaining the High Court's earlier judgment.
