The total number of registered voters in Bangladesh now stands at 12 crore 36 lakh 83 thousand 512, with an addition of 18 lakh 33 thousand 352 new voters this year—representing an increase of approximately 1.5%, said the Election Commission.
Election Commission published the draft voter list on Thursday (2 January).
The draft list was released under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin.
The Election Commission has announced that the final voter list will be published on 2 March, following the resolution of claims and objections, which can be submitted by 17 January.
Hearings to address these claims and objections will conclude by 30 January, after which the finalised voter list will be prepared.
