The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested the driver of the bus involved in a fatal collision at the Dhaleshwari toll plaza on the Dhaka-Mawa expressway in Keraniganj, which claimed six lives and left several vehicles severely damaged.

Md Nurunnabi, the driver of the Bepari Paribahan bus, was apprehended in the Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj last night, according to RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Director and spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Munim Ferdous.

“He was arrested following a tip-off while he was in hiding,” Munim Ferdous said on Saturday. Legal proceedings against him are underway, he added.

The tragic incident, captured on CCTV, occurred at 11:06am on Friday (27 December). The "out-of-control" bus crushed a car, ran over a motorcycle, and rear-ended a microbus at the toll plaza, leaving the vehicles mangled and causing significant disruption on the expressway.
