Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen, former senior secretary of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The appointment was made by President Mohammed Sahabuddin on Tuesday (10 December).

The Cabinet Division has issued a notification in this regard.

Additionally, retired District and Sessions Judge Mia Ali Akbar Azizi and Brigadier General (Retd) Hafiz Ahsan Farid have been appointed as Commissioners of the ACC.

The positions had been vacant since 29 October, following the resignation of Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah, the previous ACC Chairman, along with two Commissioners—Md Zahurul Haque (Investigation Commissioner) and Ms Asiya Khatun (Inquiry Commissioner).

This marks a significant restructuring of the ACC, which had been without leadership for over a month.
