The High Court has granted a three-month bail to Shomi Kaiser, actress and former president of the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB), in a case involving an alleged attempt to murder.
The order was issued on Tuesday (10 December) by a High Court bench comprising Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayetur Rahim.
Earlier, on the night of 5 November, Shomi Kaiser was arrested from her residence at House No. 53, Road No. 6, Sector 4, Uttara, Dhaka. Subsequently, the court approved a three-day remand for her interrogation.
Following the completion of the remand, on 9 November, she was sent to prison by the court.
The bail has provided temporary relief to Kaiser as legal proceedings continue in the high-profile case.
