Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has lauded the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) for its data-driven research efforts during the July Revolution.
He remarked that CPD has worked against the tide, persevering through adversities to uphold its mission.
In a video message delivered on Sunday (1 December), during an event marking CPD's 30-year journey, held at BRAC Centre in the capital, Dr Yunus emphasised the organisation's significant contributions to good governance and equitable societal development.
Dr Yunus stated that CPD has consistently played a crucial role in raising awareness by organising press conferences to present its research findings, carving a niche for itself in the hearts of the masses.
He highlighted its involvement during the recent July Revolution, where student and public uprisings were shaped by CPD's awareness initiatives.
"Despite facing numerous challenges, CPD has continued its research activities," said Dr Yunus, expressing hope that the organisation would persist in its efforts.
He stressed that CPD's work remains vital in supporting the establishment of a democratic state through evidence-based research.
The event also featured Professor Rehman Sobhan, CPD’s founding chairman, who reflected on the organisation's extensive contributions over three decades.
He reaffirmed CPD’s commitment to working for the betterment of the masses.
Professor Rounaq Jahan, an honorary fellow of CPD, expressed her aspirations for the organisation to continue its fearless pursuit of knowledge and advocacy in the future.
