Police have arrested Abdul Matin, personal assistant (PA) to Awami League general secretary and former minister Obaidul Quader, from Keraniganj, on the outskirts of Dhaka on Monday (11 November).

Police have arrested Abdul Matin, personal assistant (PA) to Awami League general secretary and former minister Obaidul Quader, from Keraniganj, on the outskirts of Dhaka on Monday (11 November).

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Keraniganj Model Police Station Sohrab Al-Hasan told the media that the law enforcement agencies arrested Abdul Matin from his Father-in-Law’s house at Char Washpur Village of Shakta Union of Keraniganj upazila in the morning.

The OC declined to provide further details for the sake of investigation.

Soon after the fall of Awami League government on 5 August, Matin, also the Secretary of Forest and Environment Affairs of Dhaka North City Unit of Awami League, went into hiding.
