The joint force of police and army have arrested twenty criminals early Tuesday from different parts of the city’s Mohammadpur area, including the Geneva Camp, as part of the move to maintain law and order.

The joint force of police and army have arrested twenty criminals early Tuesday from different parts of the city’s Mohammadpur area, including the Geneva Camp, as part of the move to maintain law and order.

Of them, police arrested 13 including three active dacoits, five professional snatchers and three professional thieves in a combing operation of the police in Mohammadpur Thana area.

The 13 arrestees include Md Shihab Hawlader, 25, Md Shuvo, 23, Md Abbas Mia, 24, Md Rakib, 23, Md Liton, 18, Md Rana, 27, Md rani, 22, Md Omar Faruk,29, Md Salahuddin Ahmed Liton, 45, Md Asad, 21, Md Tomal Hossain,22, Robin,20, and Nahid 21. 

The joint force of police and army rounded up seven others from a house of the Geneva Camp around 3.30am on Tuesday.

The seven arrestees are Md Hira, 28, Md Sajib,14, Md Liton, 31, Md Mithun, 30, Md Raju,30, Md Yasin,20, and Md Munna,20.

Two revolvers, 20 round of bullet and five chapattis (sharp local weapons) were seized from their possession during the raid.

A case was filed against them under Arms Act with Mohammadpur Police Station.

On Saturday last, the joint forces led by Bangladesh Army detained 45 alleged members of robbers, extortionists and juvenile gangs with sharp weapons from Dhaka Udyan, Chand Udyan and Navodaya Housing in Mohammadpur area.
