Ruhul Amin Gazi, president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Chief Reporter of the Daily Sangram, has passed away. He breathed his last on Tuesday night at a private hospital in the capital while battling illness.

Nahid Islam, Advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, as well as the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the death of journalist Ruhul Amin Gazi.

His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at Jatiya Press Club after Zuhr prayer.

Ruhul Amin Gazi had been suffering from kidney-related complications. During his long imprisonment under the Awami government, he developed various physical issues, including back pain, high diabetes, and electrolyte deficiencies.

Although there were plans for him to receive treatment in Thailand, his deteriorating health made it impossible to proceed with those arrangements.

He was serving as the president of BFUJ for the fourth time and had held various positions, including Secretary General of BFUJ and President and General Secretary of the Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ). His contributions to journalism and advocacy for press freedom will be remembered.
