Anti- Corruption Commission ( ACC) on Sunday decided to open a probe against former members of parliament Shaheen Chaklader from Jashore -6 and H M Ibrahim from Noakhai -1 for their alleged corruption in different sectors.

Anti- Corruption Commission ( ACC) on Sunday decided to open a probe against former members of parliament Shaheen Chaklader from Jashore -6 and H M Ibrahim from Noakhai -1 for their alleged corruption in different sectors.

ACC Deputy Director and Public Relations Officer Md. Aktarul Islam told UNB that a decision was made today for the investigation.

According to the primary investigation, former MP Shaheen Chakladar misused his power and acquired huge amount of illegal wealth through various irregularities and corruption. 

According to ACC intelligence, he was a contractor. He became the owner of huge wealth by using political power. There is a 22-storey five-star hotel named Jabir International at Chitrad Mor, Jashore and a picturesque building named 'White House' at Kanthal Tala.

On the other hand, former MP of Noakhali-1 Constituency HM Ibrahim has acquired huge amount of illegal wealth through various irregularities and corruption.

According to the intelligence investigation of the ACC, he has movable assets of TK16.15 crore in his own name while immovable assets of Tk 3.66 crore were found in the name of his wife.

 In addition, there are total assets of TK22.46 crore including immovable assets of 2.66 crore.
