Elon Musk, head of the US Department of Government Efficiency and owner of satellite internet service provider Starlink, has expressed his enthusiasm for introducing Starlink in Bangladesh.
The development follows a meeting between Musk and Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, who shared details of their discussions in a post on X on Saturday (15 February), stating: "Had great meeting with @elonmusk. We agreed to work together and hope to launch Starlink in Bangladesh soon."
Musk promptly responded, saying, "Looking forward to it!"
On Thursday, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing issued a statement revealing that Yunus and Musk engaged in extensive discussions on potential collaboration, with a particular focus on bringing Starlink’s satellite connectivity to Bangladesh.
According to the statement, the discussions centred on the transformative potential of Starlink’s satellite internet, especially for the country’s enterprising youth, rural and marginalised women, and remote communities.
Yunus also extended an invitation for Musk to visit Bangladesh for the prospective launch, to which the billionaire entrepreneur responded positively.
