Establishing democratic order key expectation of people: Amir Khasru

BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury here today stated that people of the country would never accept any attempt to hinder the path of establishing ‘democratic order’, which is cardinal expectation of the people.  

“After fleeing Sheikh Hasina, who shattered the backbone of the country in all terms, people are eagerly waiting to restore democratic order with the theme of ‘new politics, new thinking and new Bangladesh’ by imbuing with changed mindset in post-August-5 political landscape” he said while delivering his pre-Ifter Mahfil address at Chattogram Club auditorium this afternoon. 

Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury hosted the Ifter Mahfil for journalists working with local and national print and electronic media, was also attended by city Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossen, former city unit BNP Secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar and central BNP leader Israfil Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. 

Referring to his long cordial relation with media, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said the relation between politicians and media workers are complementary to each other and “none of them can push aside each other as both works for greater interest of the people and country”.  
 
In this context, he said journalists have to work through accepting and matching with changing scenario stem from the post-fascist regime’s political situation. 
   
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, also a former minister said that ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina used to convince and bluff the people as pretext of depriving them from fundamental rights including voting rights by telling rhetorically the tale of her government’s development works and other functions mainly were implemented for personal interest. 

“Now we are observing such trend of ousted fascist government with almost similar tongue by narrating its success stories to justify lingering the election” he said terming that “ultimate motive of which is to prolong the restoration of democracy”.
 
He said only the people of the country and their elected government will take necessary decision on what needed for the betterment of the country. “Our struggle to return back the ownership of the state to the people will continue until people get back their real ownership when country is ruled as per their will and expectations,” he added.
