Heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms are likely to persist across the country for the next 5 days, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
"Most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds," the BMD said in its latest weather update bulletin on Monday (1 July).
"There may be moderate to very heavy rainfall in some parts of the country," it added.
According to the forecast, the Monsoon winds are active over Bangladesh and strong over the North Bay of Bengal, As a result, heavy rains across the country are likely.
The low pressure over West Bengal and adjoining areas has aligned with the monsoon axis. The monsoon axis extends through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central of Bangladesh to Assam.
Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country during this time.
