At least one person was killed and six others sustained bullet wounds in a clash between two groups of ethnic tribes in Baghaichari, Rangamati, over establishing dominance.
The incident took place on Tuesday (16 June) afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Naim, a bus helper from Fatikchhari Nazirhat. He was taken to Dighinala Upazila Health Complex in a critical condition and succumbed to his injuries in the afternoon.
Confirming the incident, Baghaichari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shirin Akhter said law enforcement officers reached the scene immediately after the clash and brought the situation under control.
