The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is reviewing the possibility of reintroducing a 3-day mobile internet package that was discontinued last October, following public demand and a survey.
"Based on customer feedback, we are considering reintroducing customer-friendly internet packages," said Brigadier General Khalil-ur Rahman, the director general of System & Services at BTRC.
He also addressed concerns regarding package expiry and the cost of mobile number portability.
The package, previously favoured for its affordability and convenience, was among several that were discontinued, prompting public outcry and calls for its return.
In response to the public demand, the BTRC conducted a survey collecting feedback from over 65,000 users.
The BTRC is currently working on finalizing the details of the reintroduced packages, aiming to balance consumer demands with operational feasibility.
