Bangladesh Chhatra League, student wing of ruling Awami League, will hold procession across the country expressing solidarity with the ongoing global student movement and demanding for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The programmes including flag-raising, procession and student-gathering -- will begin tomorrow at 11am in front of the Dhaka University's Madhur canteen -- which will be carried out simultaneously across the country, BCL central President Saddam Hussain told a press conference today at Madhu's canteen on DU campus.

Conducted by BCL General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Enan, it was also addressed by BCL's DU unit President Mazharul Kabir Shayan and its General Secretary Tanbir Hasan Shaikat. Dhaka City South unit President Rajibul Islam Bappy and General Secretary Sajal Kundu, Dhaka City north unit president Riaz Mahmud and General Secretary Sagor Ahmed were present at the press conference.

"BCL express solidarity with the ongoing global student movement advocating for an independent Palestinian state," said Saddam, adding, "As an organization deeply intertwined with the sacrifices of our nation's freedom struggle, we express unwavering support for the global student movement resonating across campuses worldwide".

This movement strives for the recognition of Palestine's sovereignty, upholding justice, and vehemently opposing the genocide, breaches of international law, and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the oppressors, said BCL leaders.

Condemning the atrocity, massacres and ongoing human rights violations against innocent Palestinian civilians spanning over eight decades, BCL pledges unwavering support to those who are preaching for establishment of peace in the region, they added.

Later, BCL leaders distributed leaflets among the general students in TSC area calling them to join the upcoming BCL's programmes.
