Bangladesh and China renewed their commitment to deepening cooperation by enhancing connectivity between Yunnan Province and Chattogram, exploring fresh opportunities across trade, medical services, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed ways to expand collaboration in mutually beneficial sectors.
The meeting took place at the State Guest House Padma in Dhaka between Governor of Yunnan Province Wang Yubo and Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on Sunday (20 April).
In a further step towards strengthening economic ties, Bangladesh and China also agreed to increase the use of their respective local currencies in bilateral trade, according to an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
