The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) on Sunday (20 April) approved 16 development projects with a combined estimated cost of Tk24,247 crore.
Of the total allocation, Tk3,134 crore will be provided from government funds, while Tk16,719 crore will be secured as project loans.
The remaining Tk4,426 crore will be sourced from the own funds of the respective departments.
The Ecnec meeting, held in the conference room of the National Economic Council at the Planning Commission, was chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Following the meeting, Planning Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud briefed the press, confirming the approval of 10 new projects and the cancellation of the proposed safari park project in Moulvibazar.
