On 17 April 1917 (4 April Old Style), Vladimir Lenin unveiled his April Theses upon arriving in Petrograd after years in exile, marking a dramatic escalation in revolutionary rhetoric.

He condemned the provisional government, called for immediate withdrawal from the First World War, land redistribution to the peasantry, and the transfer of all state power to the Soviets.

His slogan—“Peace, Land, Bread”—galvanised support among workers and soldiers, setting the ideological and strategic foundation for the Bolshevik Revolution later that year.
