Police has started the formal investigation into the murder of Dilip after his wife filed a murder case with Ashulia Police Station

Police has unearthed the mystery of the murder of a gold trader Dilip who was hacked to death in front of his wife with sharp weapons at Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital city on March 9, with capturing six people on Monday. 

After conducting separate raids at Dhaka’s Savar, Ashulia, Rajshahi and Rajbari districts from 3pm to midnight on Monday, police arrested the six robbers along with 13 bhories of looted gold and Tk 76,000 in cash with the help of technology, a police press release said. Five of the arrestees were directly involved in the killing, it also said. 
 
The arrested have been identified as - Md. Ripon Mia (40), son of Md. Haque Bhuiyan of Kishoreganj district, Md. Arif Pramanik (30), son of Jonai Pramanik of Pabna district, two brothers, Md. Shah Alam (45) and Md. Arman Sheikh, son of late Karim Sheikh of Pabna district, gold trader Md. Ibrahim Babu (45), son of late Moslem Uddin of Rajshahi district and Md. Masud Rana alias Kala Masud (45), son of late Shafiqur Rahman of Cumilla district.  

Police has started the formal investigation into the murder of Dilip after his wife filed a murder case with Ashulia Police Station. 

The arrestees are mainly members of an inter-district robber gang and they have been involved in the crime for the last 10 to 12 years and the operation will continue till arrest of other members, police said.
