Law enforcement authorities have arrested 569 more individuals in the past 24 hours as part of the nationwide crackdown, Operation Devil Hunt, aimed at preventing destabilization in the country, according to a statement from police headquarters.

With these latest arrests, the total number of detainees has risen to 12,496 since the operation began on 8 February, following a terror attack targeting students and civilians in Gazipur district.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,231 crime suspects were taken into custody—662 based on previous cases and warrants, while 569 were arrested under the ongoing operation.

Security forces also recovered weapons and explosives, including two country-made one-barrel pistols, 10 rounds of bullets, 62 grams of gunpowder, and four machetes.
