'Operation Devil Hunt’ is a nationwide special crackdown that began on 8 February. The decision to launch this operation followed an attack on student protesters in Gazipur on 7 February, allegedly carried out by activists of the ousted ruling party, Awami League.
The attack resulted in several casualties and heightened security concerns.
In response to the escalating violence, top officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, law enforcement agencies, and security forces held an emergency meeting and decided to strengthen nationwide security measures.
As part of this initiative, the nationwide special 'Operation Devil Hunt’ was launched on 8 February to crack down on criminal activities.
